In many companies the business software lives on an office PC. If that PC breaks, the power goes out or someone needs to invoice from another branch, work stops. On a VPS the software sits on a server with a fixed IP that does not depend on any office computer.
There are two ways to work. In the first, each person connects to the server over Remote Desktop and uses the program there. In the second, the client program is installed on each PC and connects to the server over the network. Which one fits depends on your software and your license: check with your vendor before ordering.
If your team will work over Remote Desktop, keep Microsoft's limit in mind: Windows Server accepts two administrative sessions at once, and more people require RDS CAL licenses, which we do not sell. Windows 10 and 11 accept a single session.
Accounting data cannot be lost. The VPS has no backup included, so we recommend adding VPS Backup: a full daily copy of the server, encrypted and stored off it, that you restore from the panel.
